We are seeking a Systems Administrator III with advanced IBM Web Sphere Application Server administration experience to provide middleware support for critical applications. The role will focus on Web Sphere administration, troubleshooting, automation, performance tuning, security, disaster recovery, and collaboration with development, operations, and security teams.
Key Responsibilities- Provide middleware IBM Web Sphere System Administration support for critical applications.
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain automation solutions using Ansible, Python, and Shell scripting.
- Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to identify automation opportunities.
- Document automation processes, procedures, and best practices.
- Share knowledge with technical resources and assist with the development of in-house expertise.
- Mentor team members and conduct code reviews.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in automated systems.
- Continuously improve existing automation frameworks for scalability and maintainability.
- Perform Web Sphere installations, failover configuration, disaster recovery, security configuration, LTM and junction configuration, certificate management, and performance tuning.
- Support connectivity between Web Sphere and MQ, file transfer, and Oracle/SQL database environments.
- Support change management processes and collaborate effectively with customers and technical partners.
- Advanced knowledge of IBM Web Sphere Application Server, including HTTP, Application Server, Java, and Plugin components.
- Experience with Web Sphere Application Server versions 8.5.5 and 9 ND Edition.
- Strong troubleshooting, installation, failover, disaster recovery, security configuration, LTM, junctions, certificate management, and performance tuning experience with Web Sphere.
- Strong UNIX administration and scripting skills.
- Experience with Shell scripting and Python/Jython.
- Experience developing and maintaining automation solutions using Ansible, Python, and Shell scripting.
- Experience with automation tools such as XL/Deploy.
- Familiarity with MQ, file transfer, and Oracle/SQL database connectivity to Web Sphere.
- Strong communication and collaborative skills when working with customers and technical partners.
- Familiarity with change management processes.
- Experience with Web Sphere Liberty.
- Experience with Web Sphere MORE.
- Experience with Ansible automation.
- Experience with CI/CD and Git Lab.
- Familiarity with AWS.
- Familiarity with Terraform.
