Industrial electrician installs, maintains, and repairs complex electrical systems, high-voltage machinery, and automated controls. Key duties include troubleshooting equipment failures, reading technical blueprints, and performing routine preventative maintenance.
** Where You’ll Make a Difference**
* ** Installation:
** Set up wiring, transformers, motors, and high-voltage electrical equipment.
* ** Troubleshooting:
** Diagnose and fix complex electrical faults in heavy machinery to prevent production downtime.
* ** Maintenance:
** Conduct routine checks on electrical panels, automated systems, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
* ** Compliance:
** Follow national, state, and local electrical codes alongside strict workplace safety rules.
* ** Troubleshooting:
** Diagnose root causes of equipment and system breakdowns using hand tools and test instruments.
* ** Maintenance:
** Clean, lubricate, adjust, and perform scheduled preventive checks on motors, conveyor systems, and pumps.
* ** Repair:
** Disassemble malfunctioning devices to replace broken gears, bearings, or valves and reassemble them to optimal specifications.
* ** Installation:
** Set up, calibrate, and align new factory equipment or heavy machinery based on blueprints and technical manuals.
