Position

Summary

The Assistant Supervisor is responsible for supporting the day‑to‑day execution of distribution center activities, including receiving, shipping, picking, inventory control, and workforce coordination. This role helps drive productivity, accuracy, safety and service performance by leading employee training, onboarding, coaching, and process compliance initiatives while serving as a key resource for operational problem‑solving and issue resolution. Working closely with team managers and cross‑functional teams, the Assistant Supervisor ensures the efficient flow of goods, supports continuous improvement efforts, and promotes a positive, team‑oriented work environment.

The ideal candidate will possess 3+ years of distribution center, warehouse or logistics experience, strong communication skills, bilingual English/Spanish fluency, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced operation.

Responsibilities
  • Obtain and process product orders, including receiving, picking, and shipping; register them and distribute within the organization
  • For receiving department, schedule containers to be received and plan logistics with transportation department
  • For shipping department, schedule large shipments and plan logistics to ensure the orders are delivered on time
  • For picking department, distribute orders and organize cycle counting as needed
  • Monitor daily shipping/receiving/picking reports
  • Communicate with vendors and drivers in a positive manner
  • Work with Supervisors and Managers to solve customer complaints and issues in shipping/receiving/picking
  • Promote and enforce company safety policies and operational procedures
Training Support
  • Assist with onboarding and training new employees on departmental processes, safety procedures, and performance expectations
  • Provide ongoing coaching and guidance to associates to improve productivity, accuracy, and quality
  • Conduct regular process audits and observations to identify training opportunities and reinforce best practices
  • Support employee development through continuous feedback and performance monitoring
  • Partner with Supervisors and Managers to address performance concerns and operational challenges
Communication
  • Serve as primary point of contact for associates regarding daily processes, procedures, and operational questions
  • Communicate operational updates, concerns, and recommendations to leadership in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with HR regarding attendance, onboarding, and employee‑related matters
  • Build positive working relationships with employees, vendors, transportation partners, and cross‑functional teams
Experience
  • 3+ years of warehouse, distribution center, logistics, or related operational experience
  • Fluent bilingual communication skills in both English and Spanish (spoken and written)
  • Experience with training, coaching, operational coordination preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to positively impact team success
  • Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

$52,000 – $62,400 per year ($25.00 – $30.00 per hour, based on a 40‑hour work week)
