Reporting to ReArch's Chief Estimator, the Estimating team is responsible for preparing budgets, pre-bid packages, and full-scope estimates based on Design-Build and/or Construction Manager construction documents. In this role, you'll work closely with general trades estimators and project management teams to develop schematic and construction document estimates, solicit and evaluate subcontractor bids and scopes of work, issue notices of award to subcontractors and suppliers, prepare quantity surveys, and review project plans and specifications.
Estimators critically analyze bid documents and collaborate with leadership and project teams to identify risks, opportunities, and cost-saving strategies. Regular travel throughout Vermont and New Hampshire is required in order to attend project site pre-bid meetings, site tours, and post-bid interviews. This is an in-person role based in our South Burlington, VT;
Lebanon, NH; or Portsmouth, NH office. The starting pay is $95,000-$115,000/year, depending on experience.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in preconstruction/estimating on commercial construction projects typically valued between $500K and $10M. A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred; an equivalent combination of education and construction estimating experience will be considered.
Strong estimating, budgeting, negotiating, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required. Knowledge and experience with civil/site construction, foundation and structural systems, casework, doors, specialties, interior finishes, exterior building wall systems, mechanical and electrical systems, and sustainable or green building practices is preferred.
