A Successful FASTSIGNS Graphic Designer Will:

Create computer-generated full-color graphics and/or vinyl output that can be printed and mounted to a substrate or weeded, cut and applied.
Complete or modify designs from customer drawings, files, or exact output of customer-provided design for output to media.
Determine size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, select style and size of type, and arrange layout based upon available space, aesthetic design, and production requirements.
Inspect jobs for accuracy before sending them to output. Ensure correct material is used for each job and output device settings are accurate.
Maintain customer logo library; convert graphic files.

Ideal Qualifications for FASTSIGNS Graphic Designer:

1-2 years of graphic design experience.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Proficient in Adobe Illustrator.
Ability to prioritize jobs, multi-task, and work autonomously.
Determine the best output method based on the customer’s needs.
Sit and view a computer screen for long periods (4 hours or more).
Ability to work under pressure to output high volume, high-quality work.

As a designer and machine operator at a FASTSIGNS franchise, your role will be crucial in creating visually appealing and effective signage solutions for clients. You will be responsible for designing and producing a wide range of signs, banners, decals, vehicle wraps, and other promotional materials.

Job Responsibilities:

Designing:
Utilize your creativity and graphic design skills to create visually appealing and impactful signage designs. This includes understanding client requirements, conceptualizing ideas, and using design software to bring those ideas to life.

Production:
Operate various machines and equipment, such as large format printers, vinyl cutters, laminators, and CNC routers, to produce high-quality signage products. Ensure that the production process is efficient, accurate, and meets the client's specifications.

Material Selection:
Assist clients in selecting appropriate materials for their signage needs, considering factors such as durability, visibility, and budget. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and materials to provide the best recommendations.

Quality Control:
Conduct thorough quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet the highest standards. This includes inspecting for color accuracy, proper finishing, and overall quality.

Customer Service:
Collaborate closely with clients to understand their requirements, provide design recommendations, and offer exceptional customer service throughout the design and production process. Address any concerns or issues promptly and professionally.

Time Management:
Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that deadlines are met without compromising quality. Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate workflow and ensure smooth operations.

Requirements:

Graphic Design

Skills:

Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) is essential. Strong knowledge of typography, color theory, and layout design is necessary.

Technical

Skills:

Experience operating large format printers, vinyl cutters, and other signage production equipment is preferred. Familiarity with CNC routers and laminators is a plus.

Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail is crucial to ensure accurate and error-free designs and production. Quality control is essential to deliver the best results to clients.

Communication

Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary to effectively collaborate with clients and team members. The ability to explain design concepts and production processes clearly is important.

Time Management:
Strong organizational and time management skills are required to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Creativity: A passion for design and the ability to think creatively to provide innovative signage solutions is highly valued.
