Overview
A mid-level Tooling Manufacturing Engineer job in South Burlington, VT is currently available s is a contract to direct hire position. This job requires the engineer to be onsite; however a hybrid schedule is acceptable once the engineer is fully integrated into the existing manufacturing team. To be considered for this role, you will need a Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field, preferably Mechanical, and at least 7 years of manufacturing/composite engineering and/or mechanical engineering with applicable hands-on experience.
Responsibilities- Complete manufacturing and mechanical design tasks related to updating and creating aircraft tooling and support equipment on a growing production line, including tooling used for metallic and composite components and assemblies.
- Responsible for tooling CAD and drafting changes driven by assembly needs, as well as work order modifications and creation for the tools that they own.
- Work with technicians to ensure proper usage of tools and optimize the overall production of the aircraft.
- Investigate and disposition manufacturing issues using sound engineering reasoning and problem-solving abilities as issues arise.
- Provide status communication regarding tooling to all levels of project and assembly floor stakeholders.
- Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field from an accredited institution.
- 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing and/or mechanical design industry with hands-on experience.
- Solid Works modeling and drafting experience.
- Excellent hands-on mechanical aptitude skills.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical thinking skills.
- Ability to excel in a fast-moving manufacturing and assembly environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. as a U.S. citizen.
- Experience and understanding of manufacturing processes, specifically with the manufacturing, quality assurance, and engineering validation of aircraft component/assembly tooling and composite components/tooling.
- Experience using configuration management and change control software and practices.
- Experience working independently and exerting sound judgment when dealing with complicated engineering and manufacturing problems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including schedules and deliverables under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement initiatives as they relate to manufacturing settings and processes.
- Familiarity with aerospace R&D/production tooling and support equipment.
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position offers a pay rate of $50/hr to $65/hr;
