Activities:

We currently have an opening for a Controls Design Engineer in our South Burlington, VT office. This position will involve the design of Industrial Control Panels for Semiconductor, Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical, and Heavy Industry clients. As a member of our team, you’ll perform the following duties:

• Creating control panel layouts, point-to-point wiring and network architecture drawings.
• Specifying and selecting control system hardware (PLC and HMI), control panel components, network switches, instruments, motor controls, and valves.
• Conducting field surveys of existing facilities for retrofit projects.
• Coordinating with clients, fellow engineers, and the control panel shop to ensure the design meets project requirements.
• Overseeing panel fabrication and reviewing and performing quality checks of the design of fellow engineers.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in the design of Industrial Control Panels.
• Industrial Control System (PLC and HMI) hardware, motors/motor controls, and instrumentation knowledge required. Allen Bradley platform experience, a plus.
• Familiar with designing infrastructure for industrial communication networks.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
• Strong computer skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient in AutoCAD software and experience with EPLAN design software, a plus.
• Knowledge of UL 508A, 698A and NNNY Standards, a plus.
• Excellent communications skills.
