1795 Williston Road – South Burlington, Vermont 05401 (Hire Ahead position; flexible to work at all area branches.)
Personal Bankers support clients and businesses in Key Bank communities by engaging in deeper conversations to uncover needs and provide guidance and solutions for financial wellness, both in person and through proactive calling efforts. The role focuses on attracting new clients and deepening relationships with existing clients to build confidence in their finances.
Essential Functions- Embed a strong client‑experience culture, being present with every client and teammate and recognizing the impact on their day.
- Listen for financial wellness opportunities during in‑person and phone conversations and provide customized recommendations.
- Consistently attain individual activity, behavior, and outcome goals and expectations.
- Open personal and business accounts (consumer checking, small business, deposit products, home equity, unsecured lending, certificates of deposit, etc.).
- Develop strong partnerships with branch teammates and line‑of‑business partners, focusing on client acquisition and deepening current client relationships while managing centers of influence.
- Ensure compliance with operational, risk, security, and audit procedures, documenting client interactions appropriately.
- Support branch operations by assisting with client transactions on the teller line as needed.
- Participate in and occasionally facilitate in‑person morning huddles and end‑of‑day debriefs.
- Work on Saturdays as directed by management.
- Perform other duties as assigned; responsibilities may change without notice.
- Comply with all Key Bank policies and procedures, acting professionally, ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key’s clients and the company.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent business experience (required);
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 1+ years of experience developing current and new customer relationships, achieving sales goals, and building referral sources.
- Experience with sales is more important than financial services experience.
- Understanding of consumer credit (loan‑to‑value, debt‑to‑income, credit reports).
- Foundational knowledge of sales and service techniques, including tele‑consulting, outbound calling, prospecting, and networking.
- Comfortable interacting with small business clients, overcoming objections, and asking fact‑finding questions (preferred).
- Experience influencing business partners and leveraging centers of influence.
- Working knowledge of PCs (MS Windows and Office products).
- Working knowledge of digital technology (mobile, apps, web) and ability to educate clients on digital platforms.
- Notary License (preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of client accounts and sound judgment in transactions.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve sales and referral goals through appointments and quality conversations.
- Strong work ethic, integrity, excellent time‑management, and relationship‑building skills.
- Capacity to evaluate financial information, identify investment opportunities, and recommend strategies.
- Strong verbal and non‑verbal communication skills to understand needs and recommend appropriate products.
- Accurate and efficient handling of cash transactions.

Compensation and BenefitsBase hourly rate: $20.67 – $31.25 per hour (range may vary by skill, experience, and location). Incentive compensation may include production, commission, and discretionary incentives. Eligible for a comprehensive benefits package.
