Summary

Resident Care Associate shall provide for the needs of the elders, including personal care, therapeutic programming, safety and emotional support in a manner that supports the dignity, independence, choice and individuality of each resident. The duties of Resident Care Associate include delivery of services as written on the approved service plan for each Resident.

Responsibilities
  • Promote the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living to residents, visitors, co-workers and the surrounding community.
  • Actively contribute to growing community occupancy by representing and interacting positively with potential residents, family members, and professionals.
  • Complete the community's and any State orientation training program before being assigned regular duties.
  • Assist residents with medications according to State Regulation and LCB Policies, make required record entries, and notify the nurse regarding self‑administered medications.
  • Actively engage residents in meaningful interactions and experiences; provide assistance, encouragement, and restorative interventions to support independent activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, dining, mobility). Encourage group and individual engagement.
  • Monitor for changes in resident needs, preferences, and health status; report/document any noticed changes promptly to the RN or designee.
  • Assist residents with clothing and laundry needs as per the service plan.
  • Help residents to go to bed at night, when necessary.
  • Help residents keep their units neat, clean, and orderly.
  • Answer emergency calls and attend to residents' needs promptly.
  • Participate in the community's regularly scheduled ongoing in‑service training programs; pursue specialized staff training and mandatory education requirements as dictated by State Regulation.
  • Assist with escorting residents to meals and engagement as needed or directed.
  • Document both scheduled and unscheduled services, including incidents, behaviors, and out‑of‑ordinary events; input data into the community computer tracking system.
  • Conduct and facilitate programming, including therapeutic groups and individual interaction, that offer cognitive stimulation, socialization, physical activity, and spiritual connection.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

    Qualifications
    • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to use a computer for documenting services provided; fluent in oral and written English communication.
    • Education: Must have completed the course for certified nursing assistant or possess equivalent training or experience as required by State Regulation, and hold CPR and First Aid training as mandated by the state.
    • Experience: Preferred experience providing direct care or equivalent training; preference for experience caring for seniors with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia.
    • Certificates/Licenses: Current license/certification as required by State Regulation; provide copies of documentation to the Resident Care Director or designee.
    • Computer

      Skills:

      Demonstrates computer literacy and familiarity with office software, including but not limited to word processing; ability to learn data input.
