Job Summary
The Deskside Support Technician is responsible for providing general technical support to all users of the organization's computer systems.
Responsibilities:
- Ordering and installing desktop hardware and software.
- Software support.
- Telecom support.
- System configuration.
- Troubleshooting problems.
- Maintaining inventories.
- Providing hardware repairs and maintenance.
- Upgrading systems.
- Arranging for cabling and communication lines.
- Coordination of services with other Information Technology staff.
The Deskside Support Technician has an obligation to provide a high level of customer service to system users throughout the organization and is responsible for the appropriate prioritization and management of technical problems and requests.
A personal vehicle is required for use during working hours in order to perform the requirements of this position.
Staff must provide support coverage 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Shift coverage and on-call coverage may be required.
EducationAssociate’s degree or formal technical training or equivalent experience. Must possess a valid Vermont driver’s license and a safe driving record.
ExperienceMinimum of 3 years of IT experience.
