Operates District‑assigned vehicles in a professional manner to transport students over established routes according to specified time schedules. Complies with all traffic regulations and always maintains student and staff safety.

• Operates District‑assigned vehicles consistently professionally, ensuring safe delivery of students and staff and demonstrating proficiency in handling a school bus.
• Performs daily pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections per District procedures, cleans debris, sweeps daily, and washes weekly.
• Complies with all traffic ordinances and reports unsafe situations to the supervisor.
• Complies with District discipline policies and reports any student safety or discipline concerns promptly.
• Provides direction and assistance to students as necessary while operating the vehicle.
• Responds professionally to stressful conditions and reports incidents to the supervisor.
• Participates in assigned training.
• Follows District transportation scheduling as assigned.
• Returns lost items to the respective schools.

• High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
• Certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI);
  Cardio‑pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR);
  Automatic External Defibrillator (AED); and first‑aid certification required.

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Senior Vermont Operator’s License and Vermont School Bus Endorsement.
• No points on driving record and no vehicle‑operation convictions within the last 10 years.
• Must pass a physical exam, include drug testing.

• Friendly, collaborative manner with students, staff, and others; patience, kindness, and courtesy.
• Ability to read and understand maps.
• Ability to pass state skill test, written test, and Department of Transportation physical.
• Ability to manage students and equipment.
• Ability to observe student behavior and advise supervisors of concerns.

Position Type: Full‑Time

Salary: $36.55 Per Hour

• At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
• High school or trade school degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
