Sr. Accountant

Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant. This role requires a detail-oriented individual capable of managing accounting operations across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment that values autonomy, flexibility, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities:

- Manage and oversee accounting functions for multiple entities, including handling complex or unique accounts.

- Perform month-end close procedures, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.

- Ensure accurate and timely general ledger maintenance and account reconciliations.

- Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure proper documentation of financial transactions.

- Assist in preparing tax returns, including handling county-specific filings and bringing additional returns in-house.

- Utilize Sage 100 and Sage Intacct software to streamline accounting processes and ensure efficiency.

- Provide guidance and oversight to team members, fostering collaboration and accuracy in financial reporting.

- Handle a mix of routine tasks, such as deposits, alongside more complex accounting responsibilities.

- Collaborate with the team to continuously improve accounting practices and adapt to system transitions as needed.

- Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and contribute to long-term financial planning

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience with attention to detail, including exposure to general ledger and journal entry processes.

- Proficiency in month-end close procedures and account reconciliations.

- CPA certification or active CPA track required.

- Familiarity with Sage 100 and/or Sage Intacct software is desirable.

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and meet deadlines.

- Tax preparation experience, including county-level filings, is an advantage.

- Supervisory experience or the ability to mentor team members is a plus
