Location: Columbia
This position will be responsible for managing daily accounts receivable operations, supporting collection activities, maintaining accurate fixed asset records, and assisting with month-end closing and reporting. The position requires hands‑on experience in AR processes, strong analytical skills, and is comfortable working with SAP or similar ERP systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Accounts Receivable Cash Application & Account Management- Process customer payments and apply cash receipts accurately in ERP/SAP systems.
- Monitor Customer account balances, aging reports, and outstanding receivables.
- Maintain accurate AR records and ensure proper documentation.
- Follow up on overdue balances and coordinate collection activities with internal stakeholders and customers.
- Communicate with customers to resolve payment issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Perform customer account reconciliations and resolve billing discrepancies or payment issues.
- Investigate and resolve short payments, deductions, and unapplied cash.
- Prepare, calculate, validate, and maintain sales commission reports/payments.
- Coordinate with sales and finance teams to ensure commission accuracy and supporting documentation.
- Support month‑end closing activities related to account receivable, including reconciliations and reporting.
- Prepare AR‑related schedules and respond to internal and external audit requests.
- Maintain fixed asset records including additions, disposals, transfers and asset tracking.
- Ensure proper classification and capitalization in accordance with company policies.
- Support fixed asset reconciliations, depreciation review, and month‑end close activities.
- Assist with journal entries related to fixed assets.
- Assist with fixed asset physical inventory and verification processes.
- Prepare and maintain capital expenditure (Cap Ex) tracking and reporting.
- Support updates and summary reporting for investment plans and capital projects.
- Assist with audit requests related to fixed assets and capital expenditures.
- Provide general accounting and month‑end support as needed.
- 2+ years of experience in Accounts Payable or related accounting role in a manufacturing company.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP experience is strongly preferred).
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and AP processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas, SUMIF, VLOOKUP or XLOOKUP, and Pivot Tables.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with collections and customer communication.
- Experience supporting month‑end close reconciliations.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Effective communication skills with internal teams and external vendors.
- High level of organization and time management.
- Ability to work independently while being a team player.
- Sense of ownership and accountability.
- Comfortable working in a structured and process‑driven environment.
- Standing over 1/3 of time.
