Hiring Full-Time Property Accountant ISchedule Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm
Location Columbia, SC Hybrid after 90-days, Onsite/Remote
- Reconcile bank statements, security deposit cash and liability
- Track reserve account activity and balances
- Ensure accurate posting of monthly loan payments
- Review general ledger activity; determine accruals or reclassifications and post journal entries as needed
- Review monthly rent charges for accuracy and calculate vacancy loss
- Review budget comparison for significant variances; communicate to Accounting Manager/Community Manager/Regional Manager as necessary
- Review accounts receivable past dues; communicate potential issues to Accounting Manager/Community Manager/Regional Manager as necessary
- Research and review expense patterns as needed
- Process any required corrections and save final reports in a timely manner
- Review and approve weekly payables based on available cash
- Review and post depreciation and amortization from annual schedules
- Calculate management fees, prepaid insurance
- Prepare quarterly and annual reporting as needed
- Prepare annual audit documentation packages
- Process annual tax and insurance payments
- Input annual budgets
- Collaborate with accounting and management teams to complete additional analysis as needed
- Additional projects, as required
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting preferred
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and data management software
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
