Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Bookkeeper to support the daily accounting operations of an organization in Spartanburg, SC. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing accounts payable and receivable processes, performing account reconciliations, and assisting with month-end close and financial reporting activities. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and comfortable managing both transactional accounting and higher-level accounting responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

+ Manage full-cycle accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.

+ Prepare and post journal entries and perform account reconciliations.

+ Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.

+ Maintain accurate financial records and support financial statement preparation.

+ Process payroll and assist with tax filings and regulatory reporting.

+ Monitor cash flow and resolve accounting discrepancies.

+ Prepare reports and schedules for management, auditors, and external partners.

+ Support budgeting, forecasting, and special projects as needed.

+ Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.

+ Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.

Requirements

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

+ 3+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or staff accountant experience.

+ Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles.

+

Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and reconciliations.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and formulas.

+

Experience with accounting software such as Quick Books, Sage, Net Suite, Dynamics, SAP, or similar ERP systems.

+ Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

+ Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
