Position: SUMMER SWIMMING POOL CLERK
Location: Columbia

Description

This position receives, records and accounts for various fees and other payments due the City for the summer pool program, and performs related work as assigned. Provides customer service and performs according to set procedures under close supervision. The work is considered sedentary and involves walking or standing some of the time and entails exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a recurring basis, or routine keyboard operations.

Physical abilities required include fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, mental acuity, reaching, repetitive motion, talking, and visual acuity. Work environment involves exposure to no known environmental hazards; it is relatively safe, secure and stable.

Essential Job Functions
  • Receives, records customer fees and other payments for the summer pool program;
  • Assists in establishing new customer accounts and maintains customer records;
  • Counts daily receipts, prepares daily cash reports, and prepares deposits;
  • Answers the telephone, provides accurate information to callers and/or forwards calls to appropriate personnel, takes messages as needed;
  • Greets office visitors, directs them to appropriate office, and provides information and assistance as requested;
  • Receives and responds to inquiries, concerns, complaints and requests for assistance from City personnel and citizens regarding duties;
  • Performs other general clerical work such as completing forms, copying and filing documents, answering the telephone, etc.;
  • Attends staff meetings as required;
  • Completes clerical duties peculiar to the department assigned;
  • Attends training, meetings, workshops to enhance job knowledge and skills;
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Must be 15 years of age or older (applicants under 18 must submit proof of age at time of application).

Minimum Requirements to Perform Work

15 years of age or older, with proof of age for under 18.
