Training Program Assistant

Are you energized by meaningful work that strengthens communities and improves outcomes for youth and families? Do you enjoy being on the move, building relationships, and supporting a team that is preparing professionals and caregivers to make a real difference in youth justice? The Children's Law Center is seeking a dynamic and highly organized Training Program Assistant who is excited about both purpose-driven work and the flexibility of travel.

This position requires frequent travel throughout Midland Counties, including Chester, Fairfield, Lancaster, and Richland Counties, with occasional travel to other areas across South Carolina. You will travel independently and at times alongside the Program Manager and training team members to support statewide juvenile justice initiatives. Regular travel to the Columbia office for coordination, administrative training, and event support is also expected.

The ideal candidate can blend traditional administrative excellence with creative communication skills. You may document the impact of our work through detailed meeting notes, organized training records, thoughtful follow‑up communication, or even assisting with social media content that highlights the meaningful work being done across communities. Your attention to detail will help ensure training runs smoothly, evaluations are captured, materials are prepared, and stakeholders stay informed and engaged.

If you are organized, adaptable, mission-driven, and ready to contribute to a team that is making a measurable impact across South Carolina, we encourage you to apply. This is more than an administrative role; it is an opportunity to be part of meaningful statewide change.

Typically holds a high school diploma or GED. Requires 1 or more years of job related experience. Valid Driver's License.

Prefer experience assisting with the planning and coordination of meetings, trainings, and events, including both virtual and in‑person activities. The individual should be able to use Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word to organize information, track activities, and prepare materials; be comfortable with technology and online platforms; and quickly learn new systems and tools. Familiarity with social media platforms and the ability to provide basic content support are a plus.

Strong organizational, communication, and time‑management skills with attention to detail are essential. Must be able to communicate effectively and courteously with staff, trainees, and vendors. Must be able to perform basic mathematical computations.

Provides administrative, coordination, and operational support for grant‑funded juvenile justice initiatives. Assists with program implementation, stakeholder engagement, documentation, and compliance activities. Maintains organized records and required reports, supports financial and data tracking processes, and facilitates communication with community partners, service providers, families, and other stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient program operations.

Provides daily administrative and logistical support for the Juvenile Justice Resource Center. Helps prepare and organize training materials, track attendance during virtual meetings, and keep digital and paper files well‑organized. Assists with scheduling, coordinating projects, managing materials, and supporting internal communication. Helps maintain program records, documentation, and basic workflows related to juvenile justice programs and training activities.

Completes administrative tasks after training and events, including processing payments and travel forms, keeping financial records, compiling training evaluations, maintaining training files and the CLC registration system, and helping prepare basic reports.

Performs other duties to support the work of the Children's Law Center as assigned, including attending administrative team meetings and providing cross coverage for other administrative personnel during times of increased demand and/or absence.
