Position: Freedom of Information (FOIA) Program Coordinator I (60023478)
Location: Columbia

Job Responsibilities

This is an internal posting. Only current SCDPS applicants will be considered. Assists the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) officer in all aspects of the Freedom of Information Act process to help ensure the department's compliance with the state FOIA laws. Serves as immediate supervisor over the releasing process of FOIA requests, to include AXON and Share File. Ensures that proper red actions are made and that all Personal Identifying Information (PII) is excluded when records are released.

Creates invoices and releases requested records in compliance with the SC FOIA Law. Assists in fielding and responding to telephone inquiries, mail, and e-mail regarding FOIA requests. Must be able to prioritize workflow in conjunction with FOIA officer. Performs other administrative duties as requested.

A high school diploma and relevant experience in administrative services. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required work experience. Strong administrative capabilities including organizational and computer/database skills, to include word processing, database management, and automated record-keeping skills. Ability to coordinate diverse administrative functions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to communicate effectively. Responsible for the administrative activities associated with processing and responding to requests made under FOIA.

Required to follow program-specific protocols as directed. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under deadlines with high attention to detail.
