Job Summary
Administrative Assistant under the direction of the Humanities internship Coordinator, provides administrative support to the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences Humanities Internship Program. The assistant tracks internship information and placements; assists with evaluation data; processes payments to students and faculty; assists with event coordination; maintains program website and social media.
Responsibilities- Assists Humanities Internship Coordinator with administrative duties including scheduling meetings, responding to inquiries, and managing the program calendar.
- Manages internship processes and data: coordinates application collection and processing; tracks student internship placements; assists with evaluation data collection; processes stipends for students and faculty.
- Plans and coordinates events: collaborates to execute workshops and programs; reserves campus space, orders catering, prepares materials, notifies participants, assists with event setup, and checks attendees.
- Manages budget: collaborates with the Grants Administrator to oversee project budget; keeps detailed records and maintains ledgers and spreadsheets.
- Manages social media and web presence: updates program web page and develops maintains social media presence on various platforms.
- Education:
Traditionally a high school diploma or GED; preferred: bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or high school diploma plus 4 years equivalent experience. - No prior work experience required but experience in administrative support is favorable.
- Knowledge/
Skills:
Excellent written, oral, digital communication; culturally respectful interpersonal style; project coordination skills; ability to create and organize documents using Word, Adobe, and Excel. - Other:

Location:
USC Upstate, Spartanburg, SC. Position:
Full Time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday 8:30 am–5 pm, with occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
