Office Administrator/ Coordinator
Location: Columbia
Position Overview
Responsible for daily workflow activities to include the following membership/enrollment activities: processing new enrollments, terminations/cancellations, changes, renewals, and database updates.
Location:
17 Technology Circle, Columbia, SC 29229. Full‑time (40 hours/week) Monday‑Friday in an office environment, 8:00AM–5:00PM. This position is not eligible for sponsorship now or in the future.
- Receive and log subscriber and member enrollment applications to the system.
- Process/ key applications including new enrollments, terminations/cancellations, changes, and renewals, and update all electronic enrollment files.
- Work with edit/error reports generated from membership transactions.
- Collaborate with multiple operational areas to ensure relevant group structure, status, benefits, and/or billing.
- Prepare and issue contracts, benefit books, and standard/custom .
- Respond to and resolve customer inquiries, contacting plan administrators and internal and external customers to resolve issues/problems.
- Participate in special projects related to enrollment, billing, and reconciliations.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to acquire knowledge of the membership system.
- Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet software, and Microsoft Office.
- Good judgment, effective customer service, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic business math proficiency and analytical or critical thinking skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Office technology or secretarial science training.
- One year of customer service, administrative/clerical support, and/or membership/billing/accounts experience.
- Working knowledge of database software and computer systems support.
- Knowledge of booklet preparation, underwriting enrollment regulations, and contract formats.
- Knowledge of state and federal laws related to private business insurance and standard benefit structures.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Access.
- Typical office environment.
