Education Requirements- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate degree or Bachelor's degree preferred
- At least 1 year of related experience required
- Experience in customer service, library services, or administrative support preferred
- Experience using computers, Microsoft Office, and basic office equipment
- Assist with daily circulation desk operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Check materials in and out and assist patrons with loan requests
- Shelve books, magazines, and other library materials accurately
- Organize and straighten shelves to maintain a clean and orderly library
- Help patrons locate books, resources, and information using the electronic catalog system
- Provide basic computer, printing, and technology assistance to library visitors
- Inspect materials for damage and ensure proper placement within the collection
- Catalog and maintain magazines and other library resources
- Create promotional materials such as flyers, bookmarks, and display items
- Assist with library programs, story times, book clubs, craft activities, and special events
- Help develop monthly event calendars and branch programming schedules
- Promote library services within the community by distributing informational materials
- Notify management of supply and purchasing needs
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, reach, and use hands throughout the workday
- Frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to push, pull, stoop, crouch, and climb as needed - Must have close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception
