Student Employee (Carolina Card Ambassador)
Job SummaryThe Carolina Card Office seeks to establish a team of student employees known as Carolina Card Ambassadors to support the university’s transition to Mobile Carolina Card technology and ongoing customer service initiatives.
Carolina Card Ambassadors will serve as peer representatives for the Carolina Card Office, assisting students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors with Mobile Carolina Card adoption, troubleshooting, event support, and customer engagement activities. Ambassadors will help increase awareness of Carolina Card services while providing in-person assistance at high-traffic campus locations and university events including student move-in, orientation programs, special events, promotional campaigns, and Mobile Carolina Card outreach initiatives.
Employees may experience periods of increased work opportunities followed by periods with limited or no scheduled hours. Scheduling flexibility is an essential component of the position.
Work ScheduleUSC standard office hours are 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department. Due to the event-driven nature of the position, work schedules will vary significantly throughout the academic year and will not follow a fixed weekly schedule. Hours will be assigned based on operational needs, outreach initiatives, special events, customer demand, and Mobile Carolina Card support activities.
Required Qualifications- Current University of South Carolina student in good academic standing.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with students, faculty, staff, parents, and visitors.
- Comfortable learning and demonstrating mobile technology applications.
- Dependable, punctual, and customer-service oriented.
- Previous customer service experience.
- Experience working campus events or student engagement activities.
- Familiarity with mobile device technology and digital wallets.
