Regulatory Compliance Specialist, Operations Management
Position Purpose
As the AVP, Institutional Contracting, you will provide overall executive leadership and responsibility for the effective and efficient control of all functional operations of the Institutional Provider contracting area. In this role, you will be responsible for financial planning, budget control, and working with Actuarial to ensure that they are aware of the impact of the contracts negotiated. The highly analytical and influential leader that we seek will have a proven track record of successful managed care contract negotiations.
In addition to having executive-level presentation skills, the AVP, Institutional Contracting will have a strong background in hospital reimbursement methodologies and analytics. In this position, you will represent our company with high standards of integrity.
This position is full-time (40‑hour/week) Monday‑Friday working onsite at our 4101 Percival Road, Columbia, SC location.
Responsibilities- Ensures effective and efficient contract performance, including contractual performance standards, budget goals, cost containment, and profit and revenue goals.
- Formulates strategy for the contracting area to meet various line of business network needs.
- Ensures that all contractual and/or corporate standards and requirements are met, and all corporate guidelines are followed.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with all internal and external clients.
- Maintains overall authority for the contract and/or business unit.
- Directs, motivates, and develops staff.
- Bachelor's degree.
- 10+ years of health‑related or managed‑care industry work experience.
- 5 years of management experience or equivalent military experience in grade E4 or above.
- Proven track record of successful managed‑care contract negotiations.
- Highly analytical.
- Strong ability to influence and negotiate.
- Deep working knowledge of hospital reimbursement methodologies.
- Executive‑level presentation skills.
- Exceptional knowledge of hospital contracting.
