Job Responsibilities
The Fiscal Technician II / Customer Service Representative works under the general supervision of the Accountant/ Fiscal Analyst II and ensures daily operations of the Business Affairs Office are run professionally, courteously, and operations are performed in a timely manner.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for cashier duties for the college to include but not limited to, registration process of students, payment of tuition, deferments, student fees and delinquent balances in accordance with policy and procedures. Opening and closing of register, ensuring end of day sessions are balanced and are prepared for deposit.
- Responsible for college merchant services (credit cards) equipment and reconciliation of daily credit card receipts/monthly statements. Responsible for the maintenance and disbursement of petty cash funds, ensuring the proper charges to accounts. Responsible for making bank deposits.
- Perform customer service representative/receptionist duties. Meet and greet the general public, students, and employees requiring assistance. Serve as the liaison between the public, college personnel, and the business office staff.
- Responsible for collecting, sorting and distributing mail for the college. Allocation of postage and copier reading for each department as required. Ensure proper working order for postage machine, fax, and copiers - contacting for repair as necessary.
- Calculate travel reimbursements for all employees. Verify that all reimbursements request are accurate and valid per the regulations. Keep records for filing annual travel report.
- Process the Add/Drop forms for the business office verifying the accounts.
- Responsible for balancing the operating and federal bank statements monthly. Perform other duties as assigned.
This position requires the ability to work independently with deadlines. Candidate should have customer service skills, effective communication skills, excellent organizational skills, knowledge of office policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and equipment.
Minimum and Additional RequirementsAssociate degree with accounting related courses plus 2 years of accounting / bookkeeping experience or a high school diploma and four (4) years experience in entry-level accounting or bookkeeping. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for work experience.
