Job Summary
This position supports the effective delivery of maintenance services by assisting Area Maintenance Supervisors with the planning, prioritization, scheduling, coordination of preventive, and corrective maintenance across assigned campus maintenance shops. This position helps ensure maintenance work is properly scoped, resourced and materials are identified in advance, schedules are coordinated with campus partners, and work is completed safely, efficiently, expeditiously, and with minimal disruption to teaching, research, and daily campus activities.
The Area Coordinator serves as a key point of coordination among supervisors, skilled trades, area maintenance teams, Facilities leadership, customers, contractors and campus stakeholders. Through effective use of the CMMS (AIM), this role supports work order flow, backlog management, preventive maintenance compliance, outage coordination, service delive1y, and continuous improvement.
Preferred QualificationsMinimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities- Must have the ability, solve problems, take initiative to provide services, develop strong customer relationships, measure cost and performance, keep accurate records, communicate effectively, develop proper procedures, define actions to resolve specific problems situations, communicate to management, and prepare reports.
- Able to plan, direct and review work.
- Must possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to interface and work well with subordinates, peers, outside departments and other business professionals.
- Ability to operate computer systems and their respected software for providing facility management reports.
