Shipping Associate (SEASONAL)
Loris, SC (On-site)
· October 1st - February 28th
This is a full-time seasonal role (40 hours/week) during the October 1st – February 28th term.
WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO:Pull, pack, and ship orders with the kind of accuracy that makes people write reviews like, "I ordered 100 different items and there wasn't a single mistake. How?"
That's the standard. Every order. Every day.
You'll also:
- Accurately weigh, package, and label loose tobacco to tight standards
- Keep the shipping area organized when things slow down
- Work as part of a team that gives a damn about the details
- Use web-based scheduling software to manage your schedule and shipping tasks
If you work summers — restaurants, hotels, rentals, courses, attractions, boats, anything that lives and dies by tourist traffic — you already know the hard part isn't the season. It's the months on either side of it.
This is work for those months. The term runs October 1st to February 28th, indoors, at a steady rate, and during the busiest point on our calendar. Expect days and weekends, some extended hours, and everyone on deck through Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and the December shipping deadlines. Yes, This includes the week of Thanksgiving and Christmas. We are closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Years Day.
Availability is required during all other periods.
And when it wraps, you're free for whatever you've got lined up in the spring. We're not asking you to give up your summer. We're asking for the part of the year you're not using.
YOU'LL THRIVE HERE IF:You're not looking for easy. You're looking for right.
You show up on time because that's what professionals do. You pay attention because the details matter. When something's off, it bothers you — and you fix it instead of walking past it. You don't need someone standing over your shoulder to do good work; you do it because anything less pisses you off.
You don't just want to be good want to be the person your team relies on. The one who doesn't drop the ball. The one who makes everyone else's job easier because you handled your part right.
You'll be trained the way anyone here is trained, by people who do this work well. You'll be held to the same accuracy as everyone else on the floor. And you'll be part of the team, not parked at the edge of it.
YOU CAN EXPECT:- Compensation : $17.25/hour.
- Benefits — Seasonal employees are eligible to participate in the 401(k) with an employer match up to 4%, with no vesting period. Seasonal employees are not eligible for health benefits, PTO, or holiday pay.
- Perks : casual dress (jeans and t-shirts), fresh fruit daily, paid luncheons, and company events.
- Culture : a passionate group of "Laudisians" who like the products, like the customers, and like working with other people who actually care.
- Reality check : we work around tobacco and smoke; many of us are enthusiasts. You'll often be in smoking areas, so you'll need to be comfortable with that.
While experience in shipping, warehouse, logistics or a related field would be nice, what we're really looking for is:
- A real intolerance for sloppiness — when something's off, you notice and you fix it.
- Reliability: on time, on site, able to work days and some weekends.
- Availability through the full term, including the holiday peak.
- Ability to stay organized, follow procedures, and maintain a clean workspace.
- Curiosity about pipes, cigars, or really any other "deep hobby" worlds where the minutiae really matter.
- Comfort being on your feet and lifting up to 30 lbs regularly.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to pass a criminal background check.
