Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail‑oriented and experienced Estimator to join our team and play a key role in developing accurate, competitive, and profitable project bids. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, proficiency in industry‑standard estimating tools, and the ability to interpret project documents with precision. This position directly supports both pre‑construction success and seamless project execution.
Responsibilities- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services
- Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and bid packages to determine complete project scope
- Develop estimates using B2W Estimate software
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs utilizing AGTEK and Bluebeam
- Create and manage project schedules in Microsoft Project
- Solicit, evaluate, and compare vendor and subcontractor proposals
- Work closely with project managers and operations teams during bid reviews and project handoff
- Identify project risks, cost drivers, and value‑engineering opportunities
- Maintain and refine historical cost data to enhance estimating accuracy
- Support post‑bid evaluations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- 5+ years of estimating experience (compensation DOE)
- Proficiency with B2W Estimate
- Preferred experience with AGTEK, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time‑management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Proven ability to manage multiple bids under tight deadlines
- Background in civil, earthwork, or heavy construction estimating
- Familiarity with current material pricing, production rates, and industry market trends
