Project Manager, Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in heavy highway construction to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with all contractual and quality standards.

The ideal candidate brings at least 5 years of heavy civil / highway construction experience
, with a strong understanding of field operations, cost control, and project delivery from start to finish.

• Manage full project lifecycle from pre-construction through closeout
• Oversee project budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and ensure milestones are met
• Coordinate with superintendents, engineers, subcontractors, and owners
• Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and contract requirements
• Lead project meetings and provide regular progress reporting
• Monitor field operations to ensure productivity, quality, and safety standards
• Manage change orders, RFIs, and contract documentation
• Resolve project issues proactively to avoid delays or cost overruns
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, inspectors, and stakeholders

• Ability to read and interpret plans, technical drawings, and specifications
• Strong understanding of heavy highway construction methods (earthwork, grading, utilities, paving, drainage, etc.)
• Experience managing project budgets, cost tracking, and forecasting
• Proficiency with scheduling tools (Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar preferred)
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
• Familiarity with DOT or public infrastructure projects is highly preferred

• Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy highway / civil construction
• Prior experience as a Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, or Project Manager
• Proven track record of successfully managing field-based infrastructure projects
• Experience working with DOT or municipal agencies is a plus
