At Pyramid, the Field Engineer role is more than an entry-level construction position—it is the starting point of a structured career path designed to develop future field leaders.
Working alongside experienced Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers gain hands‑on experience supporting project execution, coordinating subcontractors, tracking progress, maintaining safety and quality standards, and learning how successful construction projects are delivered in the field.
As experience and leadership capabilities grow, team members are given increasing responsibility and opportunities for advancement.
Field Engineer – Build the Foundation for Field Leadership- Field Engineers support daily field operations while developing a strong understanding of construction execution, coordination, safety, quality, and project planning.
- This role provides the foundation for a long‑term career in construction operations and field leadership.
- Assistant Superintendents take on greater responsibility for field coordination, subcontractor management, safety compliance, scheduling, and day‑to‑day project execution.
- Superintendents are responsible for managing field operations, leading project teams, coordinating subcontractors, and delivering projects safely, on schedule, and at the highest quality standards.
- At this level, leaders oversee multiple projects and field teams while helping drive operational excellence, workforce development, safety performance, and long‑term company growth.
- Many of Pyramid's operational leaders began their careers in the field. Through demonstrated leadership, performance, and commitment to our culture, team members may advance into executive leadership positions that influence company strategy, client relationships, operational performance, and long‑term growth.
The most successful Field Engineers continuously develop their skills in:
- Field leadership and communication
- Trade coordination and sequencing
- Construction scheduling and production tracking
- Safety leadership and OSHA awareness
- QA/QC processes and inspections
- Procore and construction technology systems
- Problem‑solving and proactive issue escalation
- Material and procurement coordination
- Owner and subcontractor relationship management
