• At least 5 years of civil construction estimating experience, emphasis on heavy civil, site work, utilities, drainage systems, and roads
• Four-year degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management is a plus – will consider Associates or partial degree with some experience
• Experience working for a general contractor as an estimator bidding on site works
• Experience estimating grading and utilities (typical projects: site development, industrial, commercial development, utilities, mining reclamation, overburden removal, general site work)
• Estimating projects ranging from $500K to $10 million
• Estimating self-performed work and pricing labor, equipment, and material costs
• Working knowledge of construction assemblies and all project phases
• Ability to produce accurate estimates from conceptual and schematic drawings
• Ability to produce detailed final contract estimates
• Ability to assess site exposures/construction risks and appropriately analyze cost and reflect in estimate
• Ability to identify constructability issues through the estimating process
• Ability to identify value-engineering alternatives
• Ability to work as a team
• Strong communication skills: read, write, and communicate effectively with clients, engineers, etc.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Adobe
• Desire experience with Agtek, Trimble Business Center, Carlson, Cad, or any other takeoff/modeling software
• Experience with Bid2
  
  Win (B2W), Heavy Bid (HCSS), or similar
• Travel within SC, NC, and GA may be required
