Job Summary

In this role, you will manage construction activities on conventional generation projects, ensuring compliance with schedule, safety, cost, and quality standards. You will coordinate subcontractors, supervise field personnel, oversee project execution plans, and provide leadership to achieve project objectives. This is a field assignment that requires travel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate all on-site subcontractor activities to meet the CPM schedule and enforce subcontract requirements.
  • Coordinate site access and supervise superintendents, monitoring their performance and providing leadership.
  • Implement the Project Construction Execution Plan and report on construction productivity and schedule performance.
  • Take necessary actions to meet project budget and schedule, directing recovery plans as required.
  • Coordinate construction completion walkdowns, hand over start‑up packages, and close out punch list items.
  • Assist the Site Manager with client interface and relations, and coordinate with the Materials Manager to review and accept site procured materials.
  • Perform field audits to verify proper storage of owner‑supplied equipment and manage shared use of contractor equipment.
  • Participate in monthly contractor management meetings, conduct meetings when the Project Field Manager is unavailable.
  • Conduct weekly coordination meetings with subcontractors and manage schedule and commodity installation status.
  • Manage authorizations for extra work, back charges, and payment requests, ensuring timely tracking information.
  • Adhere to safety, quality, ethical standards, lessons learned, and performance management programs.
  • Serve as safety representative when the regular safety supervisor is absent and resolve safety and quality issues.
  • Maintain knowledge of construction subcontracts and manage overtime, timesheets, and cost control.
  • Write construction portions of client and monthly reports and coordinate with Field Engineers on deliverables.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, assess and implement improvement opportunities, and facilitate staff engagement.
  • Adhere to all safety and quality standards applicable to duties and accountabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of construction technology (Simple Cycle, Combined Cycle, Circulating Fluidized Bed, Nuclear).
  • Industry knowledge of EPC and constructability.
  • Experience with project budget processes, controls, and tools.
  • Risk assessment and management experience.
  • Administrative policies and procedures knowledge.
  • Construction Project Management Systems expertise.
  • Conceptual planning and conflict management skills.
  • Leadership ability (team building, coaching, mentoring, change management, advising).
  • Multi‑tasking and organizational skills.
  • Presentation, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience with time reporting and expense reporting systems.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or a related field preferred, or relevant field experience.
  • 14+ years of construction supervisory experience, with at least 3 years as a construction manager.
  • OSHA training.
  • Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (background checks, drug screen, vehicle records) as required.

Physical Demands

  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand, kneel, bend, stoop, move, and walk long distances in confined or uneven areas.
  • Use hands to handle tools and controls per procedures.
  • Perform repetitive movements and work above 5 feet.
  • Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
  • Work up to a 12‑hour shift in varying temperature extremes and other outdoor conditions.

Work Environment

  • Typical construction site environment with cramped spaces and awkward positions.
  • Extreme temperatures (above 90 °F or below 32 °F) and exposure to inclement weather.
  • Bright or low lighting conditions and high noise levels.
  • Hazardous equipment and typical office environment.
  • Position is safety sensitive.
