Position SummaryThe Commercial Plumbing Superintendent serves as the primary field leader for commercial plumbing projects, coordinating labor, materials, subcontractors, and project execution from start to finish. This role works closely with Project Managers, Foremen, General Contractors, and clients to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, exceptional leadership abilities, and a proven track record of successfully managing multiple commercial construction projects.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and oversee day-to-day field operations for multiple commercial plumbing projects
- Coordinate manpower, subcontractors, equipment, materials, and project schedules
- Ensure all plumbing installations comply with project specifications, building codes, safety requirements, and company standards
- Conduct regular jobsite inspections, quality control reviews, and safety audits
- Partner with Project Managers and General Contractors to maintain project timelines and budgets
- Identify and resolve installation challenges, field conflicts, and construction issues proactively
- Forecast labor requirements and assist with workforce planning
- Review drawings, specifications, submittals, and construction documents to ensure successful project execution
- Maintain accurate daily reports, progress updates, and field documentation
- Lead, mentor, and develop Plumbing Foremen and field personnel
- Promote a strong culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and professionalism
- 8+ years of commercial plumbing construction experience
- 3+ years in a leadership role supervising crews, foremen, or field operations
- Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, installation methods, and applicable codes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, submittals, and construction drawings
- Proven experience managing multiple projects and field teams simultaneously
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
- Ability to pass pre-employment screening
- Previous Superintendent experience in commercial mechanical construction
- Journeyman or Master Plumbing License
- Experience with hospitals, schools, industrial facilities, and large-scale commercial projects
- Proficiency with construction technology, scheduling software, and digital reporting tools
