Position Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for leading heavy civil construction projects from preconstruction through closeout while ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This role works closely with field operations, superintendents, subcontractors, engineers, and owners to successfully deliver complex infrastructure projects throughout South Carolina.

Key Responsibilities Project Leadership
  • Manage all phases of heavy civil construction projects from startup through final completion
  • Establish project scope, schedules, budgets, milestones, and execution strategies
  • Partner with General Superintendents, Superintendents, and Foremen to ensure successful project execution
  • Monitor project performance while maintaining schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives
Project Planning & Execution
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and cost controls
  • Coordinate procurement activities, subcontractor selection, and contract administration
  • Conduct routine jobsite visits to monitor progress, quality, productivity, and safety
  • Identify project risks and implement proactive solutions
Client & Team Communication
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, engineers, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
  • Prepare weekly progress reports, monthly forecasting, invoicing, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
  • Participate in monthly Work-in-Progress (WIP) reviews
  • Maintain organized project documentation using SharePoint and company systems
Quality, Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, and regulatory standards
  • Promote OSHA and MSHA safety practices across all projects
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and best construction practices
Business Support
  • Assist with business development efforts and client relationship management
  • Support recruiting activities through candidate interviews and evaluations
  • Participate in company training programs and professional development initiatives
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of Project Management experience in heavy civil construction
  • Experience managing heavy civil, site development, underground utilities, roadway, grading, drainage, excavation, or infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and contract administration
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and field operations
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
