Location: Columbia

University Communications is seeking a creative and dependable Student Photographer/Video Editor with a passion for visual storytelling. This part-time, on-campus position pays $12 per hour and offers up to 10 hours per week
, primarily during afternoons and evenings.

The student will help photograph campus events, chapel services, and other important activities while assisting the lead photographer/videographer. Responsibilities also include editing photographs using Adobe Photoshop or similar software.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience, strengthen your photography and editing skills, contribute to the story of student life at CIU, and build a professional portfolio.

Responsibilities
  • Photograph student-led events and activities on campus, typically at 4:00 p.m. or later.
  • Assist with photographing chapel services and other important campus moments.
  • Serve as an assistant shooter alongside the lead photographer/videographer.
  • Edit photographs using Adobe Photoshop or similar software.
Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of manual camera settings, including ISO, shutter speed, and aperture.
  • Familiarity with photography composition and lighting.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Lightroom and Photoshop, or similar photo-editing software.
  • A willingness to learn, grow, and remain flexible with a changing schedule.
  • Dependability, creativity, and an interest in visual storytelling.

Real-world experience in photography.
