Position Summary
Driver Services Specialist positioned in the Driver Services / Data Quality Helpdesk Unit at SCDMV Headquarters in Blythewood, SC. Responsibilities focus on data accuracy, customer service, and support for DMV operations.
Job Responsibilities- Update and add customer driver record details in the database and ensure all transactions comply with DMV policies.
- Merge and rebuild customer numbers, correct legacy records, facilitate enrollment in the DMV Payment Plan, and remove erroneous entries.
- Handle telephone and email inquiries for the Data Quality Help Desk, generate Remedy Ticket requests, and provide vehicle/driver information to various units.
- Conduct research and analysis using NCIC, PDPS, Docs Open, Legacy, and microfilm to update conversion records and prepare documents for scanning.
- Assist all levels of management, branch offices, and support staff; collaborate with business analysts, developers, and DBAs to resolve data discrepancies.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by supervisor or management.
- A high school diploma or equivalent plus clerical experience.
- In-depth understanding of motor vehicle laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Capable of building and sustaining productive working relationships with agency staff and the public.
- Skilled in articulating policies and procedures to DMV clients.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Familiarity with the Remedy Trouble Tickets system is preferred but not mandatory.
- Works under general supervision; operates within a standard office setting.
- Extended work hours may be required.
- Can lift 10-15 lbs. and spend prolonged periods sitting at a computer.
- Position is in a Tier III Unit.
- High school diploma and two years related job experience.
