Customer Benefit Advisor (CBA I) – Columbia, SC
General
Summary:
Minimum starting hourly rate is $21.00. This entry‑level role is the first point of contact for our customers and requires providing accurate benefit, claim, and policy information with minimal oversight.

- Serve as the customer’s first line of contact via phone, email, or chat
- Provide timely and accurate information on policy and coverage questions
- Maintain privacy and handle customer data with empathy and professionalism
- Work scheduled shifts Monday‑Friday, 8:00am‑8:00pm Eastern Time
- Meet or exceed performance metrics such as accuracy, handle time, and customer satisfaction scores
- Use multiple system applications to retrieve information and document interactions
- Follow documented processes and workflow to improve customer service and operational efficiency
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Customer Contact Center manager
- Minimum one year of customer service experience (preferred in insurance, healthcare, or finance)
- High‑school diploma or GED required
- Successful completion of the Contact Center training program, including phone proficiency and knowledge checks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with adaptability to customer needs
- Strong multi‑tasking ability and familiarity with multiple computer systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Intellectual curiosity, strong work ethic, and adaptability to a changing environment
- Reliable attendance and ability to meet scheduled shift requirements
