Customer Benefit Advisor (CBA I) – Columbia, SC

General

Summary:

Minimum starting hourly rate is $21.00. This entry‑level role is the first point of contact for our customers and requires providing accurate benefit, claim, and policy information with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the customer’s first line of contact via phone, email, or chat
  • Provide timely and accurate information on policy and coverage questions
  • Maintain privacy and handle customer data with empathy and professionalism
  • Work scheduled shifts Monday‑Friday, 8:00am‑8:00pm Eastern Time
  • Meet or exceed performance metrics such as accuracy, handle time, and customer satisfaction scores
  • Use multiple system applications to retrieve information and document interactions
  • Follow documented processes and workflow to improve customer service and operational efficiency
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Customer Contact Center manager
Qualifications
  • Minimum one year of customer service experience (preferred in insurance, healthcare, or finance)
  • High‑school diploma or GED required
  • Successful completion of the Contact Center training program, including phone proficiency and knowledge checks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with adaptability to customer needs
  • Strong multi‑tasking ability and familiarity with multiple computer systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Intellectual curiosity, strong work ethic, and adaptability to a changing environment
  • Reliable attendance and ability to meet scheduled shift requirements
