Do you have a servant heart and a passion for helping others? Join a team where every call truly makes a difference! We’re seeking Contact Center Benefits Counselors to support the community by providing information, guidance, and application support for a variety of benefit programs.
This is a temp to hire position; opening up the door to a long‑term, career‑building opportunity — not intended as a seasonal or short‑term project. You’ll have the chance to grow within a mission‑driven organization that values compassion, teamwork, and service.
What You’ll Do- Handle approximately 20 inbound calls per day, focusing on quality over quantity.
- Assist callers with inquiries about benefits programs such as SNAP, Healthcare, taxes, and voter registration.
- Conduct client intake interviews and help complete online applications.
- Provide accurate, empathetic, and professional customer service while maintaining confidentiality.
- Collaborate with the Contact Center Manager and teammates to ensure a positive client experience.
- Stay current on programs, policies, and other important updates.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 6+ months of call center experience
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Proficient with computers and multi‑line phone systems
- Reliable, professional, and team‑oriented
- Experience in a nonprofit or service‑oriented environment
- Bilingual abilities (Spanish/English a plus)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and web‑based applications
- Compassionate and comfortable assisting individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Monday–Friday schedule (no weekends!)
