This position is located in the Vehicle Services/Titles & Registration - Research Unit, at SCDMV Headquarters, Blythewood, SC. Responsibilities of a Titles & Registration Specialist III include:
- Demonstrate exceptional and professional customer service while responding to customer inquiries via mail, email, fax, and/or telephone communication.
- Able to interpret SC code of laws and DMV policies and procedures.
- Utilize Phoenix, and other programs, to perform extensive research while properly and accurately researching customer requests.
- Efficiently prepare appropriate documents to mail to corresponding customer(s).
- Maintain appropriate tracking system for customer inquiries, reconciles transaction reports, and maintains a balanced cash drawer.
- Prepare paperwork; ensuring proper coversheet, application, and supporting documents are sent to scanning department.
- Process mail daily: sort, date, track and assign to appropriate departments.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Agency requirements include:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
Additional requirements include:
- Ability to learn and explain policy and procedures to DMV customers.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Proficient in basic computer skills.
- Ability to exercise discretion in interpreting and applying office practices, policies and procedures.
- Works under general supervision after a period of training.
- Must display professional proficiency in all areas of the job.
- Works in general office environment.
- May be required to work extended hours outside of the normal scheduled work week.
- Must be able to lift 10-15 lbs.
- The work requires sitting for prolonged periods of time and significant time spent at a computer terminal.
Agency preferred:
- A high school diploma and two (2) years related job experience. An equivalent education and relevant experience may be accepted with prior approval.
