MUSC HEALTH – Orangeburg Medical Center, part of MUSC Medical Center, seeks dedicated BC/BE Emergency Room Physicians to deliver top‑tier care in our vibrant community. The role is located 30 minutes south of Columbia, at a dynamic 286‑bed facility with a Level III Trauma Center or at MUSC Health Bamberg‑Barnwell Medical Pavilion.
About This RoleYou will be supported by a tight‑knit clinician team and sub‑specialty expertise, with multiple shift options (8, 10, or 12 hours) and Advanced Practice Provider support. Your team will include dedicated ED nurses who provide expert compassionate care. The department sees more than 62,000 patients annually, providing care for complex medical problems, injuries, life‑threatening illnesses, heart attacks and strokes.

Job Description
MUSC Health Orangeburg Medical Center was first established in 1919, growing from a small private hospital into a robust regional health care system that joined the Medical University of South Carolina hospital network in 2023. The network includes a 286‑bed acute care hospital, a breast center with mobile mammography, MUSC Health Bamber‑Barnwell Medical Pavilion, Express Care locations, seven primary care clinics, and 15 specialty practices across Orangeburg, Bamberg and Calhoun counties.
The Orangeburg facilities anchor the northern region of the Charleston Division, which strives to expand access to high‑quality specialized care from Charleston to Columbia.
Existing specialty services include cardiology, endocrinology, general surgery, urology, behavioral health, neurology, obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine, orthopedics, vascular services, interventional radiology, breast care, and outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy. MUSC Orangeburg has a psychiatry residency and plans to expand residency programs; MUSC Charleston residency programs are also building educational rotations in Orangeburg.
