Specialist, Training II

Overview

Responsible for identifying training needs, developing training materials, and facilitating training. Provides training and guidance for new training specialists. Develops performance assessments and testing materials.

Location: This position is full-time (40-hours/week) Monday-Friday in a typical office environment. You will work an 8-hour shift scheduled during our normal business hours of 8:00AM-5:00PM. Occasional overtime may be required. You may be required to travel between buildings. This role is located at 17 Technology Circle, Columbia, SC 29203, United States of America.

• Leads, plans and prioritizes training projects from assessing training needs to delivering final products that meet customer specifications and due dates. Facilitates technical and non-technical training for employees, business partners, external customers, and other audiences. Contributes as a member of various functional groups. Ensures final products meet customer specifications and deliverable dates.
• Develops trainee and/or training performance assessments and testing materials. Develops, revises, and updates training materials. Uses blended learning techniques and technology/tools to meet business goals. Gathers data from quality audits and team development surveys and incorporates it into training delivery. Tracks and monitors team interactions and provides feedback to trainees and their management.
• Identifies developmental needs and provides guidance, coaching and train-the-trainer sessions as needed. Prepares reports and presentation materials. Facilitates training to all levels of management.
• Evaluates training trends and programs. Maintains training databases, reports and assessments, and performs other related tasks as needed to support the training area.

  Education:
  
  Bachelor's Degree
• Degree Equivalency: 4 years of job-related work experience or an Associate's degree with 2 years of job-related work experience
• Required Experience: 3 years of job-related work experience, including 2 years in training and 1 year in insurance-related work
• Required Software and Tools: Microsoft Office, standard classroom and office equipment; strong PC skills for developing training programs and materials; strong project management skills. Familiar with a variety of training technologies (audio/visual, virtual, podcasts, webinars, tele-conferencing, and other training tools).

  Strong verbal and written communication, human relations, research, planning, data gathering and analysis, design and development skills for diverse outputs, organizational skills, and the ability to learn multiple lines of business. Excellent project management and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Experience in training material development and presenting to varied audiences. Knowledge of Adult Learning Principles and learning development methodologies.

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Journalism, English, or Public Speaking
• DDI Master Trainer, Langevin, or ASTD certification
• PowerPoint experience
