Position Summary
The Department of Electrical Engineering at the Molinaroli College of Engineering and Computing, University of South Carolina, is expanding its tenure‑track faculty. We are seeking a dynamic Full Professor to begin in Fall 2026
.
Applicants are expected to excel in research, teaching, service, and leadership.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain a distinguished research agenda in power and energy systems, with an emphasis on AI and computing applications.
- Secure external funding and foster interdisciplinary collaborations.
- Teach graduate and undergraduate courses, mentoring students.
- Participate in departmental, college, and university service activities, including curriculum development and committees.
- Mentor junior faculty, postdoctoral scholars, and graduate researchers.
Education and Experience
- PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Years of relevant academic experience commensurate with academic policy.
- Sustained record of excellence in research and teaching, including competitive funding and interdisciplinary collaborations.
- Expertise and established track record in power and energy systems, especially applying AI and computing to advance knowledge.
- Research areas such as distribution grid design and operation, bulk grid planning and operation, electric machines, energy conversion, and power electronics converters and systems.
- Programs that support DOE priorities in energy security, national security, and sustainability.
