ABOUT VOORHEES UNIVERSITY

In celebration of its 125th year of existence on April 7, 2022, Voorhees College was renamed Voorhees University to honor founder, Elizabeth Evelyn Wight. Voorhees University is a private, diverse, historically black, coeducational, liberal arts, baccalaureate degree-granting institution affiliated with the Episcopal Church. Located in rural Denmark, South Carolina, the University serves traditional and nontraditional students primarily from South Carolina and the southeastern region of the United States;

Schedule:

8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday (some extended hours and travel may be required)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Serve as the University's Scholarship Officer.

* Provide management and oversight for the University's Student Scholarship Programs.

* Seek funding replacement for institutionally funded scholarships with external scholarships.

* Serve as member of the University's Scholarship Committee under the supervision of the Vice President for Business and Fiscal Affairs.

* Manage and coordinate University-wide Scholarship projects and initiatives, as assigned by the president.

* Process and submit the electronic report for requesting of the South Carolina Tuition Grant Program.

* Reconciliation of the SCTG program. Review and ensure that all SCTG awardees eligibility are met prior to requesting State Grant Funds.

* Process and submit the electronic report for requesting of the South Carolina LIFE and HOPE Scholarship programs funds for eligible students.

* Prepare South Carolina LIFE, HOPE, and SCTG scholarship transmittals for submission to the Business Office for crediting to student's account.

* Reconcile SC LIFE and HOPE Scholarship funds with the SC Commission on Higher Education and the Institution's Disbursement Report to ensure no audit exceptions in the state grant programs.

* Supervise Federal Work-Study Students in absence of Assistant Director.

EDUCATION

* A bachelor's degree preferred but not required.

* Demonstrated history of strong leadership and successful implementation of complex initiatives.

* Demonstrated experience with budget management.

* Excellent communication skills, student-centered, sense of humor.
