Assistant Director of Youth and Recreation Ministries

Union United Methodist Church is seeking an Assistant Director of Youth and Recreation Ministries to serve alongside the Director of Youth and Recreation Ministries to assist in cultivating a vibrant and welcoming faith community. Located in Irmo, SC, Youth of Union seeks to create spaces where middle and high school students encounter the love of Jesus, experience authentic belonging, and are empowered to live out their faith.

Union UMC also seeks to do all of these things by offering recreational programs for both church and community members alike.

In this role, you will:
  • Assist in planning and leading Sunday morning, Sunday evening, and Wednesday morning sessions.
  • Assist in planning and running retreats and various events throughout the year.
  • Recruit, train, and assist all Youth and Recreation Ministry volunteers.
  • Attend students’ extracurricular activities outside of the church setting.
  • Assist in running Youth Basketball program.
  • Work with College-aged Ministries team leader to ensure packages and cards are sent.
