Position: Program Coordinator I
Location: Columbia

Position Summary

The Program Coordinator I for the South Carolina Child Care Inclusion Collaborative will provide training and coaching for all Inclusion Specialists located throughout the state, develop an evidence‑based consultation model, and ensure services to child‑care providers are delivered with consistency and fidelity. The Coordinator will design and implement training for new specialists, provide ongoing training for current specialists, and work directly with child‑care providers to coordinate developmental screening through the SC ASQ Online System or hard copy.

The position is a 12‑month temporary, research‑grant funded role based at USC – Columbia campus, requiring regular in‑state travel and occasional out‑of‑state travel.

Responsibilities
  • Provide training and coaching to Inclusion Specialists, including onsite observation, action planning, and feedback.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain an evidence‑based consultation model with fidelity.
  • Design and deliver training for new Inclusion Specialists and ongoing development for current specialists.
  • Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, and evaluation of child‑care programs using the SC ASQ Online System.
  • Assist the Program Director in data analysis and report writing.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree and 3 years relevant program experience, or bachelor’s degree and 5 years relevant program experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree with 3 years experience in Early Childhood Special Education, Special Education, Early Intervention, or a related field; or Bachelor’s degree with 5 years experience in the same field.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Certified Trainer and Certified Technical Assistance Provider through the South Carolina Center for Child Care Career Development, or ability to achieve within 3 months of hire.
  • Experience training child‑care providers in special education methods, curricula, developmental screening and assessment, and early intervention procedures.
  • Knowledge of SC child‑care licensing requirements, ABC Quality standards, and community services for children with developmental delays/disabilities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access) and web‑based applications.
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, own reliable vehicle, and possess a valid SC driver’s license with a clean ten‑year driving record.
