The Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina invites applications for a professional track faculty member to teach business communication. This nine-month, renewable appointment includes teaching 6 sections (PhD-level) or 7 sections (MA-level) of MGMT 250 (Professional Communication) per year with the possibility of teaching up to two overload sections per year for additional pay.
MGMT 250:
Professional Communication is our required undergraduate business communication course. It is taught as a small, writing-intensive course. The Center for Business Communication is the Darla Moore School’s business‑specific writing center offering individual coaching to help improve student writing, speeches and presentations, and assistance to faculty who want to develop communication‑intensive assignments.
Education and Experience
To qualify at the rank of Lecturer:
Candidates must possess a master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a master’s degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline.
To qualify at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor: A doctoral degree from an accredited institution and at least three years successful teaching is required. Candidates should have a proven record of effective teaching in business writing, English and/or technical writing. Candidates for the doctoral degree anticipating completion of degree requirements prior to August 16, 2026 are also encouraged to apply.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience working in a university writing center is preferred.
