To serve as instructor for the College, including duties of teaching, developing materials, advising students, and providing assistance to the administration through committees and other activities. This is an in‑person position located at the Cheraw Campus.
Job Functions of the Biology Instructor- Present course materials through appropriate instructional strategies to facilitate the learning process through multi modalities and laboratory environments.
- Develop, revise and maintain current instructional materials including lesson plans, lab projects, through course objectives, outlines, appropriate instructional materials and methods. Demonstrate and provide professional effective classroom management and control, maintain safety and current lab experience and equipment, provide timely and accurate reports supporting the collegiate learning environment.
- Participate in assisting students in personal and professional development.
- Effectively use required office hours and professional student advising for student completion.
- Participate in college activities and the promotion of NETC through service.
- Participate in activities designed to develop professional skills to maintain and improve job proficiency.
- All other duties assigned by the Dean of Arts & Sciences.

Minimum Requirements:
Master’s Degree with 18 credit hours in the subject area. Must have a valid driver’s license. - Preferred:
Previous teaching experience at community/technical college. - Experience using a variety of teaching modalities (face‑to‑face, broadcast, and online).
- Master’s degree or 18 graduate hours in a second subject area which would allow teaching in a second discipline.
- Knowledge of principles and procedures pertaining to higher education instruction.
- Knowledge and/or work experience.
- Knowledge of standard business practices and accepted protocol for areas of responsibility.
- Knowledge of college mission, goals and objectives and ability to relate these to areas of responsibility.
- Ability to supervise and coordinate the activities of a professional level staff; establish good working relationships with alumni, businesses, students, faculty and others in the college community.
- Ability to interpret and apply all related laws.
- Demonstration of teaching abilities.
- Employee will receive minimal supervision in the performance of teaching and advising responsibilities; employee is expected to demonstrate independence and discretion in teaching practice and student advising.
The teaching environment includes classroom and lab, requiring local travel to business/industry and community campuses and some short‑term travel may be required for professional meetings. Professional Development may require some overnight stays. Teaching locations include partner High Schools, State, Federal and Juvenile Correction facilities, community campuses, and industry partners.

Work Schedule:
The college operating hours (open to the public) are Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. Employees are offered one flexible work schedule option. All schedules consist of three full days and one shorter day, which totals 37.5 hours per week. State Retirement Plan and Deferred Compensation Programs. Professional Development opportunities.
