Academic Program Specialist (Student Services Coordinator) – Full Time – 37.5 hrs/week

State Pay Range G08; USC Market Range MRE – $48,726 – $70,653. Anticipated hiring salary commensurate with qualifications.

Serves as the primary point of contact for students needing assistance, particularly seniors and GARNET participants, offering support in navigation of university policies, course registration, and program requirements.
Responsibilities- Plan, schedule, and coordinate student orientations, GARNET meetings, activities, and events.
- Collect, review, and manage GARNET course materials, including syllabi and course evaluations.
- Process overrides for GARNET courses and respond to general student inquiries.
- Coordinate and support the Assistant Director with current and developing GARNET programs, including Winter Session and Summer Semester.
- Serve as primary coordinator of grade collection for Summer Semester and maintain the Winter Session course waitlist.
- Direct and organize GARNET’s Student Advisory Board, communicate with Board leaders, and oversee volunteer opportunities.
- Direct and manage budget for events, team‑building, and beyond‑the‑classroom experiences for the Board.
- Coordinate the Interdisciplinary Certificate enrollment process for undergraduate students, process curriculum additions in Banner, and maintain a database of enrolled certificate students.
- Provide email communication to students regarding graduation application processes and liaise with academic advisors and Registrar’s office.
- Supervise student office assistants and provide backup coverage for front desk operations.
- Assist with other special projects and job‑related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 2 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and experience.
- Knowledge of university policies and procedures.
- Ability to direct and manage multiple complex activities.
- Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Banner (or similar student information systems).
