Assistant/Associate Professor – Tenure-Track Faculty Position
The University of South Carolina Arnold School of Public Health invites applications for up to two faculty positions at the Assistant/Associate level in the Department of Health Services Policy and Management (HSPM). These 9‑month, state‑funded appointments include a substantial start‑up package.
Successful candidates will develop or sustain an independent, extramurally‑funded research program; teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses; advise and mentor students and postdoctoral fellows; and provide service to the university, profession, and community. The focus should be on rigorous research that informs policy and practice, particularly in health economics, econometric methods, outcomes research, health equity, social determinants of health, or health politics and policy.

Start date:
Fall 2026.
- Doctoral degree in health policy, health services research, health care management, health economics, public policy, or a closely related field by the employment start date.
- Assistant‑Professor rank requires a clear research agenda with high potential for extramural funding and excellence in teaching.
- Associate‑Professor rank requires an established record of securing extramural funding, publishing in high‑impact peer‑reviewed journals, impactful teaching, and experience commensurate with rank and academic policy.
Strong record of research in the areas noted above, especially demonstrated grant success and high‑impact publication record.
