Special Education Teacher in Walterboro, SC

Overview

This contract opportunity begins July 21st, 2026, and offers a consistent Monday Friday schedule (37.5 hours/week). You ll work closely with a focused caseload of 10-12 students and receive valuable classroom support from teacher assistants.

• Hold active South Carolina Special Education Teacher certification for preschool through elementary levels.
• Demonstrated experience working with young learners in a special education setting is highly valued.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues, families, and support staff.
• Ability to develop and adapt lesson plans to meet individualized needs and foster student growth.

• Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction aligned to students  IEPs in a self-contained or inclusive classroom.
• Monitor student progress, collect data, and participate in IEP meetings.
• Create a positive, nurturing environment where every student feels included and supported.
• Work collaboratively with teacher assistants to implement instructional strategies and address behavioral or sensory needs.
• Communicate effectively with parents and multidisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care.
