Overview
The Math Department at North Greenville University is seeking adjunct instructors of mathematics. Available courses may be online or in person, but most offerings are traditional in-person daytime classes that meet two or three times per week. Compensation is based on the number of credits taught, typically three credits per course.

Responsibilities- Instruct classes as assigned
- Prepare for classes by organizing and becoming familiar with student material
- Prepare lesson plans and course material as required
- Effectively organize and present subject matter to students
- Objectively assess students for academic performance
- Ensure security of assessment tools and confidential documentation
- Effectively utilize Canvas learning management system
- Effectively utilize Honorlock monitoring system if teaching online courses
- Appropriately maintain student records, grades, and attendance to ensure accuracy
- Meet all university deadlines for syllabi and grade submission
- Understand and comply with FERPA regulations
- Mobility:
Able to move between buildings and attend classes, meetings, and functions across campus. - Speaking:
Frequently convey detailed or important instructions and ideas accurately, professionally, and with a contextually appropriate tone and volume. - Cognitive/Emotional:
Ability to critically think and express emotions and thoughts in an honest, collegial, constructive, and prudent manner
Adjuncts teaching in-person courses are expected to be able to travel to the Tigerville campus.
Working Relationships and ScheduleMathematics adjuncts first report to the Mathematics Department Chair, followed by the Associate Dean of the School of Science and Mathematics, and the Dean of Humanities and Sciences.
Qualifications- 18 graduate hours in mathematics; master's in mathematics preferred
- Verifiable prior teaching experience preferred
- Support NGU’s mission statement and core values, commitment to a Christian lifestyle and character in keeping with a biblical model
- Affirm an understanding of, and willingness not to teach contrary to, the Baptist Faith & Message 2000 and the University’s Statement on Human Flourishing
- Agree to abide by the employee and faculty handbooks, including community standards agreements
